Push rod 3046420 is the valve push rod for Cummins NTA855 engines, common to both intake and exhaust positions. It transmits camshaft thrust through the tappets to control valve timing, and is made from seamless chromium-molybdenum alloy steel tube with hardened ends. A six-cylinder engine takes twelve, supplied twelve per box at about 0.34 kg each.
